Companions (MotB)

Companions in Mask of the Betrayer

You meet almost an entirely new cast of companions this time around, starting with Safiya.  You'll be able to have 3 companions in your party, in addition to your PC. All companions will be available early (first third) of the game.  With very few exceptions, you'll never be forced to have a certain (or any) companion with you.

At least two of the companions will be mutually exclusive: Okku and One of Many.  For reasons you will discover they simply will not be able to co-exist.  This is the one exception where you ARE forced to make a choice as to which one will be available.  Once the choice is made, there is no option to recruit the other.

As for your previous companions, well - according to George Zeits,"You'll have a very good chance of seeing (and potentially travelling with, for a short while) one of your companions from the first game. And you'll definitely run into another. You'll hear about most of the others from various sources throughout the game."  "Tarmas is still alive, and some players may see him (very briefly) in MotB"   

Safiya

Other: She once worshipped Kelemvor, the current god of the dead but, for reasons you may uncover, she fell out of favor with her god in a rather dramatic fashion. As far as the companions being more fully developed goes, Kaelyn, who is completely optional, has more than twice as many lines of dialogue as the most developed companion from NWN2.  

 

Gannayev-of-Dreams, aka Gann
