Posting Rules for the Forums

Listed below are rules for posting on this website.

Preamble

In any Thieves-Guild there are two main rules.
1. Don't get caught!
2. Have fun!

Blatant disregard for the rules of conduct and/or warnings from the site moderators can result in banning. We don't like banning people but we can and will do it if necessary.

Rules of Conduct

1. The use of racial or ethnic slurs or any form of hateful language or links to same is strictly forbidden.
2. Fighting, threats, verbal abuse, swearing will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. Everybody has a right to an opinion.
3. Flaming or trolling on the forum is forbidden. Please don't feed the trolls.
4. Nude images, pornographic material, ads for or links to any such material is not permitted in any form. No pics, no links, no ads.
5. Ads or links for products or online businesses are forbidden.
6. Spamming the forums is not allowed.
7. Links for personal websites are forbidden except as noted in items a and b below.
Exceptions:
a. If you wish to exchange and crosslink a NWN2 related site and thieves guild, please contact a moderator or the site admin BEFORE posting.
b. Links for persistent worlds may be posted in the PW's - General Discussion forum.
8. Soliciting donations for other websites is forbidden.
9. Software piracy is a crime. No reference to or offer of sharing copyrighted material, or links to warez, torrent or other pirate sites will be allowed. And don't copy the content off this site either. Just because it's on this site does not make it public domain and the authors of the content still retain their original copyrights.
10. For your own safety please do not provide personal information in your posts. Phone numbers, addresses, email addys, etc.

Any post in violation of the above is subject to immediate deletion. Violators are subject to banning at the whim of a moderator or site admin.


Posting Rules

1. Please make sure your post is made in the proper forum for that subject. Make your "Subject" and message clear and legible. We can't help you if we can't find it, read it or decipher it.
2. Please refrain from typing your post in all 'CAPS'. It is equivalent to yelling, and is not acceptable.
3. If you are going to make a post, then post a specific subject with a substantial message. Posts with short messages like, {Hi, Lol, Bye, etc), will be deleted.
4. Please stay on the subject of the original post. If you wish to discuss something else, start another thread.
5. Please do not "necro" old threads. Start a new one.
6. Before you post, PLEASE use the forum search engine and look thru the content blocks to the left. A lot of your questions have already been answered. If you have searched BOTH areas, and still can't find your answer, then post.
7. If you feel the need to change something in an earlier post, please use the edit option. The edit function has NO time limit. Don't make another post. Automerged double posts are subject to deletion at the moderator's whim.
8. In the upper right hand corner of a post is a box with an exclamation point in it. Please use this to report bad posts.
9. Please do not quote excessively large bodies of text with one or two sentence replies. Edit the quote to a manageable size.
10. Images should be less than 520 pixels wide x 400 pixels. Use thumbnails images to link to a larger image if at all possible. Anything larger is subject to immediate posting deletion.

Any post in violation of the posting rules is subject to revision or deletion at the admin / moderators discretion. Repeat offenders are subject to banning.


There's enough information on this site that most if not all of questions should be answered without posting. We had hoped that the site would be self policing in that members would help each other out without the mods having to answer everything.
