Knot in the Weave Arcane Attenuator help

I visited the Thay Enclave and got the Arcane Attenuator from Akila and the quest - "A Knot in the Weave", but the Attenuator doesn't work.

I have tried it several times in different locations (Pirate Cove, Banite Enclave) on Arcane Nexus's, but it just keeps showing "You cannot gather arcane energy from this object."

It is not already charged (I have never gotten it to work!), I went back to Akila, but no new dialogue options appear.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug or what? My game is fully patched and I have not had any other major problems so far.

Any help is appreciated.

Nevermind. It is working now. Not sure what happened though. Just started working on reload.
