Apparently a lot of people have had trouble using the console commands to respawn the rune inscribed iron piece or the glowing liquid components necessary to activate the golem. Although the process has worked for some people, it's not working universally. Why it doesn't work for some people, I can't say (although it's probably related to the wide range of patches available). However I HAVE found another fix for it that should solve the problem, but it's a bit more complicated.

Here goes:

To get the rune piece:

Save the game and exit
Open the toolset
Open module '2400_illefarn_ruins.mod'
Select 'items'
Expand '_module'
Find the item 'Rune-Inscribed Iron piece'
Right click and select 'save to file'
The file name should look like something like this: quest_item1.UTI
Save to C:\Documents and Settings\_ \My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\override
Exit the toolset
Restart the game
Activate the console and use the following commands:

~ (open the console)
DebugMode 1
hit enter
giveitem quest_item1 (or whatever name you used in your UTI save file)
hit enter
DebugMode 0
hit enter
~ (close the console)

A similiar sequence can be used to acquire the glowing ink, although it's possible to return to the goblin caves under Ember in Act 3, so this shouldn't be necessary, but I'll include it for completeness.

Save the game and exit
Open the toolset
Open module '2200_port_llast.mod'
Select 'items'
Expand '_module' then 'underground cavern'
Find the item called '{2221}Vial of Glowstone Water'
Right click and select save to file
Select a save file name and save to C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2\Override
The file name should look like something like this: quest_item2.UTI
Save to C:\Documents and Settings\_ \My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\override
Exit the toolset
Restart the game
Activate the console as above except change the giveitem command to giveitem quest_item2 (or whatever name you used in the .UTI save file)

I've included this in the Known bug cheats section in the Crossroad Keep section on the left. :D

Thanks to BrionT of the Official Bioware Forums for the solution. :D
