View Full Version : Gambling Hall at the Keep
Has anyone who has played the thieve's path in NW ever been given the option to build a gambling hall in place of one of the towers in the Keep? It's rumored that the option exists but I've never seen it verified.
I'm wondering if the option was removed.

Okay. Managed to dig around a little bit in the scripts. It appears that the option to build the gambling hall was disabled and is not accessible.
Interesting info though. Very interesting. Never knew about that and too bad it isnt possible anymore. Thanx for the info gambit!

I have not updated to 1.03 (I have had no problems in 1.02) yet so I beleive it may still be an option for me. It was there on my last playthrough, but I was a good character and chose another option. I don't remember exactly, but I beleive it was Torio that suggested it. It may be a little while before I have a chance to play, but when I get there I will update if you are interested.

i was a lg(damnit) sor and i was able to do it. talk to the fence in your keep.
I'll have to double check the scripts again - I thought for sure they were disabled. Probably read them wrong .... :(

well, i didnt take the option, but they said that the fence wanted a gambling den, and i talked to him about it. dont know if you can actually gamble

okay guys, I checked again and I can not get the gambling hall dialogue to trigger for me. It might be path based - i took the city watch route.
It doesn't trigger at all for me. Could be a bug though.

Yep. you're right. The option IS there. I just tried AGAIN, sure enough I got it. The trick was talking to Torio about it and not with Uncus.
In fact, talking to Torio gives you info on all three options: the mage tower, the NWN9 tower and the gambling hall.

That was my mistake too. I figured talking to Uncus would trigger it, but NO, it was Torio! :D in fact, Uncus doesn't say squat about the gambling den.
It was Torio all along. It had to be Torio, she was always the smart one. So tonight I took care of all family business .... Barzini, Tataglia, Stracchi ....

You would think so wouldn't you. lol He might be able to if you take the Shadow Thief path, but according to the scripts, it only triggers for the city watch path if you talk to Torio. Go figure. lol :D

On a related note, I've found some really wierd things in the scripts for this game.
For instance:
There are SEVEN special missions - 2 more after the mere of the dead men, but I've never seen them trigger. I am almost positive that ONE was removed because it required your Greycloaks to actually track down and kill a shadow reaver!
Remember all the posts from people who couldn't find Edario the armorer and were goosed because they couldn't upgrade armor? Well, there is actually an Edario AUTOSPAWN script that is in the game. lol I'm not sure if that was added in later but its there. (v1.03840)
Lots of things like that ae hiding in the modules. :)
