As requested here:
http://www.thieves-guild.net/forum/showthread.php?t=590

we've now implemented a script which is going to prevent users from double posting:

what is double posting?

if a user posts in a thread in which he already had the last post his new post will be automatically edited in the last post.

this rule will not apply if between the last post and the new post is more than 24h.

the thread will be bumped!

have fun!

I will test:

test

Next post for test

So I tested and it just adds it to you old post, interesting.
By the way, with "the thread will be bumped", what do you mean by that? That this one is going to be?

a bumped thread is a thread which is shown on the top of the thread lists. you refresh it by posting in that thread and because of a new post the thread is displayed on the top.

with that you can bump very old threads that are displayed on page 3 for instance. people tend to read only the first page ... rarely browse thru other pages ... so bumbing means bringing a thread (old ones for instance) to page 1 again ...

the script will bump a thread if poster already was the last poster.

got it? :)

well its up to you really. but i personally thing that it should be a forever thing because there is almost no reason to have a double post. the only problem is threads for things like modules or the glossary i posted they are eventually going to grow past the post word limit. so they will need double posts.
