View Full Version : Acorns
Yes I said acorn. As in the nut that grows on trees. My 2yo insist that acorns are squirrels. this is due to a baby TV channel that plays "hide the acron" Two squirrels play this game. Now my 2yo says squirrels are infact acorns, There is no convincing him otherwise. *signs*
I had to share this with ya'll. I found it to be very amusing! :D

Let her play BGII, she'll then come to the (healthy) assumption that Acorns are in fact things where dryads grow out of! :D
I wish you good luck in convincing your 2yo that acorns aren't squirrels. :p

Actually since you mentioned that. We are doing bi-llingual learning DVD's Counting, colors, ABC's etc for 2 and up. They teach spanish/English all in one. He can count to 20 in English, and 10 in spanish. I'm not sure what exactly else he is grasping. But since 60% of his vocabulary is known to only him :D We'll see when his words become more clear. hehe

good for you... or probably better to say good for him... it might become a bit of a nucence for you, especially if you dont speak Spanish. does he mix his words up? or does he diferencate between the two languages?

Who knows? lol He just turned 2 last month. His vocabulary is growing very quickly. And he may have words that are in both . I know very little spanish. Two of his uncles had taken advanced spanish. So he has others to learn from as well. He knows and recognizes his numbers 1-20 and all his ABC's. He can even count items up to 10. He knows all his primary colors now.
With the expectations of starting school these days. They want children to even know how to read before they enter kindergarten. I know having at least one language other than Enlgish can be quite helpful later on for him. Spanish is a good one to know in the states. It is like the second language here hehe. I fear making him learn to much to fast and so young some times. However, he seems he likes learning. We make it fun. Many of his activities are more like games.
Truly, I wish I knew all I do now with my older kids! I really enjoy spending time with him and teaching him. As long as I am not responsible for teaching spelling. He should be fine. LOL

lol, spelling.
i think that everyone loves to learn, simply because they learn when doing things they enjoy, so i suppose you could say that they enjoy it by proxy.
then you could say that people like learning cause they like learning and they enjoy thing because they are interested in what they are learning about... but people started talking to me and i lost my train of though, sorry, i wont be hijacking your thread today.
