'Please insert CD'

This is a problem that many people have not just for NWN2 but for nearly every game with a CD/DVD.

You've installed the game, you try to run it but it says that it cannot find the CD. You check to make sure that the CDs in.

Any help?

(I had to get a crack to play it. Sorry about that, but i really wanted to play.)

It's either a problem with reading the CD/DVD, or the drive itself. I've had a few occasions where I have found drives that just don't work/read very well. I replaced one in my son's last PC, about 2 years ago. Half the CD's you put in it, it wouldn't read. It would tell you there was no disc in the drive. It can happen. Check your disc to make sure there is nothing on it. Something that might keep it from being read properly.

many people? interesting... i have a problem where it ignores my telling it to play if windows is trying to read the cd... but yeah, if the drive isnt reading the cd, best bet would be to clean the lenses in the drive... think you can get special cleaning cd's... or if your brave you can open the thing up and clean it by hand... though i dont recommend it.

best bet would be to try another drive.

this issue happened to me some years back with command & conquer generals ... the original cd was in the drive and the program kept telling me to insert cd .. only a reboot of the system solved the problem.
