View Full Version : Anyway to add Shandra with debug?
So i was thinking, since i found out you could use debug to add companions to your party: is it possible to add Shandra to your party after she died (so you can use her in act3).
I hated the fact that she died, and she was a good fighter too, which i like to keep.
I know i'm suppose to do something like this right?
press ~ to open console
type: "DebugMode 1"
"partyadd XXXX"
"DebugMode 0"
were XXXX = the companion code?
So my questions are:
What is Shandras code?
And is it possible to use the code and debug to add her to your party in act3, after she died?
Unfortunately I have no idea on this one, I too would be interested to know... so if anyone works it out let us know!
Cheers :)
I've had another brilliant idea! What is the code to Amy? Hahaha ^^
Edit: btw, this was written by one of the Obsidian's designers (about adding Shandra):
Type ` to bring up the console
Type DebugMode 1
Hit enter
If your party is full, type rs ga_remove_comp("[companion first name in lowercase]") and hit enter
Type ga_add_companion("shandra")
Hit enter
Type DebugMode 0
Hit enter
Type `
so you might type, for instance, if your party is full and you want to swap casavir for shandra
`
DebugMode 1
rs ga_remove_comp("casavir")
rs ga_add_companion("shandra")
DebugMode 0
`
Worth mentioning that this was how to solve a bug were Shandra wasn't in your party in act2.
So it might not work in act3 (haven't tried yet).
I suppose it's worth a try, but I'm wondering what kind of effect it would have. Since the characters, both Shandra and Amy, are not scripted for anything beyond the time they die. They would be like ghosts, with no one noticing them. Maybe you could use them like a generic member, just good for fighting. You might even have to do the puppet thing with them. Hey, but that mightbe kind of neat though. You could send her ahead to spring any traps. Or have the guards chase her around while you loot the room. :D
You might have noticed, but Shandra isn't really "gone".
She is just unselectable when chosing your companions.
Amy could be harder though...
Edit: I have confirmed that it's indeed working to add shandra to your party in act3!
I took Shandra for a tour to Nolanoths heart ^^
But: she is in a permanent puppet mode! If you don't select her and make a direct command, she won't do anything, not even following you when you run.
So eventually, i had to remove her because it wasn't fun to have a companion that doesn't even follow you.
I could've made it work by selecting Shandra and used her as the party leader though, but then again, that wasn't fun either...
