View Full Version : What was your level the 1st time you finished NWN2?
As the title says... I would like to know what was your level when you finished the game for the first time (if you played again probably you did better then the first... that's why it doesn't appeal as much)...
Currently I'm starting the Vale of Merdelain part in chapter 3 (going after Black Garius and the King of Shadows) and my character is: Fighter lvl 10 + Divine Champion lvl 9
Bard lvl 18 (I suck at multiclassing)
Going to go for a Sorcerer next!

leveld to 20 just before fighting black garius....
10th sorcerere 10th red dragon disciple.
My first run through I played a fighter lvl 10 and got to level 19 total with 9 levels a weapon master. I barely made it to 19 and that was after killing the three shadow reavers. :p
I forgot to mention I missed several side quest so I am sure that hurt my leveling
First run through: Rougue (9), Fighter (1), Divine Champion (5), Nw9 (5). In other words... 20.
17 Rogue, 3 Shadow Dancer
10 pally, 10 divine champion.
13 ranger 7 divine champion
I am such a LOSER!!!! :( Am I the only one that did not make it to 20 the first time? :o lol

Don't worry. I only made it to 17. Rogue (10), Duelist (7). Then again, Drow do have a +2 level adjustment.

so your ecl was only 19. one might ask, however, how many people exploited the bug in westharbour to go up a level? i know i was only 2500 exp of a level (when i realised what was happening) so i couldnt help myself. and then only got to level 20 at the verry end.
I finished the game yesterday: Fighter lvl10 + Divine Champion lvl 10...
My first and only run through the game...to many bugs.. next time they should finish the game before selling it...
I just thought about this. Maybe not such a loser. My first char was an Aasimar. She was always a level behind everyone else. :D

I'm not sure I know what that bug is.
If I did it I wasn't aware of it.
I too reched Lvl 20 just before the final battle.
I leveled to 20 in the fight with Garius (the fight that we finally kill him...)
20th level Lawful Good Human Monk :)
2nd time, a 10th level fighter / 10th level Priest of Tempus
I pretty much do every sidequest i can, so lvl 20 wasn't a problem for me.
I was: level 15 fighter, level 5 Neverwinter Nine.
ok let me get this straight ... now on any of you who have posted where any of your characters a drow, or a character with an ecl ... i know there are only 3 races that add an ecl ... so the uestion i pose is do you actually lose 2 levels of the 20 that is aloud in the game .... meaning for the next few levvels my drow rogue warlock will only make it to a total level of 18 for his classes and i can either balance it out to where each class has 9 levels in each ...
if i am correct incase i cant find this post or any answers to this post can those who answer also email me a copy of the responce to nexusguardian@yahoo.com .... i dont get online often due to work ... and i am suprised that you guys already finished the game ...

thats an intresting question... i would asume so. as you start the game lvl 3 and your character needs the amount of xp required for a lvl4 character to make lvl2 as you are trieing to make ecl4. i would be supprised if you could make ecl22, so yes, you will only make lvl 18. me thinks
yes, you will only get to lvl 18, which has sense, seeing your ecl would be 20
My first time, not so long ago... I was level 19 at the last fight with mr King of Shadows. BUUUUUTTTT of course you have to have in mind that I had a drow character!!!

has anyone not finished the game with an ecl 20 char?

Apparently not...

you then?
...
The first time I finished the game i was level 20. 8 Barbarian, 7 Frenzied Berserker, 2 Fighter, 3 Neverwinter Nine with a half-orc. I started out as CN and through the course of the game ended up as LG.
I was an Aasimar and my level was 10 Paladin/ 5 Divine Champion/ 5 Neverwinter Nine. I'm suprised to see so many people under level 20. I thought it was almost garaunteed you would be level 20. I guess it's just because I did all the sidequests I could find... As Liso says, I have OCD and I have to complete everything and do it right. :p
Got 20 at keep defence. Rogue 5 / Assassin 10 / Shadow Thief of Amn 5.
Seems quite real to get 20 with drow, half way done so will see or maybe evil side that i allways play is more xp rewarding?

Haven't finished as i'm on holidays and hardly any of the computers i've been to it has worked..
Aasimar Paladin/Divine Champion 10/10 total level 20. Wasn't my first character, but was the first one that didn't get eaten by bugs/corrupted saves.
has anyone not finished the game with an ecl 20 char?
I posted on the first page I think. My first character finished at lvl 19. My henchman were level 20 though. I played an Assimar so she was always a level behind the others. Well, besides Neeshka who also leveled one behind the other races.

yeah, but because you where an asimar your ecl was 20.

Maybe if you do all the quest and kill everything in your path etc. The game must be designed to have you end at 20. I never level up cheat. The game adjust for your level so why bother? lol
But as a lvl 20 drow sorcerer the first two acts are peanuts...

you are actualy able to get ecl 22 characters?
you are actualy able to get ecl 22 characters?
Technically I was level 21, as Aasimar has a level modifier and is one below the others...so yea.

think im going to have to play me a drow.
well, i finished the game this afternoon (finally :D) and yep, i got up to lvl 20 right before the king of shadows appearance....
think im going to have to play me a drow.
Maybe not such a bad idea. To think about it, it is actually not fair. Cuz a 20 lvl drow is much more powerfull then a 20lvl human...

indeed, they should have set a ecl cap or a cap on xp.
... how does leveling above ecl 20 work... i meen in nwn2.
does it actually have the correct xp requirements?
When you begin the game you will start leveling up when the other dudes reach their 4th lvl (being a drow for an Aasimar it will be lvl 3). So you begin with the same level: lvl 1 but for the rest of the game you will be behind the other characters. In the beginning it isnt simple but reaching the end you are actually quite strong. Hope that solves your question
19 - I played a tiefling. 5 lvls shadow thief of Amn, 1 level Neverwinter Nine (just to check that out!), 13 levels rogue, I think.
19 - Male Aasimar 15 Paladin/4 Divine Champion.

it is "unfair" but you have to bear in mind that the begining will be much easier for the human and a drow will have to work hell hard to keep up with the fast lvling so it kinda makes it even
Made 20 (pure ranger) by the end. I think I exploited the Lord Nasher/Arval's Journal bug in my first run. It is similar to the West Harbor one, you can pickpocket Arval's Journal from Nasher and repeat. I only did it twice (more out of curiosity), but I am pretty sure I would have had plenty xp for 20 by the end regardless.
My first runthrough was with an Aasimar Paladin/DivineChampion/NW9... I ended up at level 19 BARELY...
My second runthrough was with a Tiefling Rogue/ShadowDancer/STA and I ended up again, BARELY breaking level 19...
My third runthrough ended me up with a level 18 Drow Necromancer/PM...
My fourth runthrough finally saw me with a level 20 Human Monk...
I am currently working on a fifth runthrough with a minmaxed Drow Warlock build which adds one level of Barbarian and two levels of Fighter... Should be interesting to see how this works out... I am also tempted to play this entire time through solo without any other party members... I was going to do that with my second runthrough but it was just too cute having Neeshka and Ash running around together as Tiefling Rogues... damn shame I couldn't start a relationship with her....
Yea I'm an odd ball for my first one, did it namely for RP reasons.
Finished at level 20 (NE) 7 Druid / 5 Wiz / 8 Palemaster first time. With not a single point in any of the persuasion abilities, yes, i didnt get a lot of "alliances" needless to say. /sigh
Edit*
2nd time, 20 druid, it was much easier with a pure class.
i still havent finished yet ... hehe
Im not finished yet. lvl 8 paladin and lvl 7 Divine Champion.. (15) act 2 now, somewhere... stuck hahah
Aasimar Paladin - level 20+ :D
