You must set the ad_network_ads.txt file to be writable (check file name as well).

What skill do you need to make the bridge out of the fallen trees back in West Harbour? I have gotten enough to make it, but the only option it gives me is [Do Nothing] cause I dont have the appropriate skill

K....for some reason I can run through the river...problem solved..in a manner of speaking...

I beleive you need a survival skill of 20 to make the bridge from the fallen tree. And yes, as long as you don't mind taking a little damage you can just walk through.
