View Full Version : 3 Shadow Reavers
Ok this is getting annoying
At the scene where you face 3 shadow reavers neither Amman or the Gith seem able to read the true names. Even in puppet mode in an area where they are undisturbed. They both begin the action, gesture towards the reaver and then stop. They are not being disturbed. Any ideas?

If they get interrupted while reading the true names, they will start fighting. My suggestion is to take control of one of the two while they others fight and do the reading away from the main fight.

yeah i tried that based on advice i found in other threads, in fact i have now tried it several times. I think i have found another bug :-(
If you have tried the advice given in other threads, the only other suggestion I can give is re-installing the game and updating to the newest patch version.

I was only able to solve the same problem by moving Amman a good distance away from the fight. Only then did he start the incatation,

Same here. I made sure all the mobs behind us in that pathway were killed and I stood him back at the very beginning of the path behind all the other characters. We foddered for him .
I used the puppet mod with Ammon and Zhae... umm, the Gith! (how is her name pronounced anyway???) And I ordered them to use the damned scrolls! I think I kept them far enough too. Well, at least one of them survived to recite the incantations... :o
I assure you this is no bug. Its just that All the NPC's in this game have the intelligence of a retarted cat. So if they run around in circles, cast useless spells, pull more enemies then there are in the dungeoun, cough up a few hairballs, use turn undead against demons, stab themselves in the foot, or does everything except what you told them to do. I assure you, it's not a bug, its just that the designers are morons.
But as for the true name thing, I just did it and I had to reload like six times because the idiots REFUSED!! To cast the true name scroll. So here is what you do.
Make sure they are back behind the bridge and away from the rest of ure companions then as they are casting make sure at least one is seleted. (Not targeted, selected. You know, when you can move them and command them mannually ect.) I found that if they are selected they seem to do what you told them to do more often.
Hey, that's not fair on the retarded cats! I'm sure they have more intelligence than the NPC's on NWN2. :p

Exactly! :D :D :D
My "cast" actually killed the Reavers without the true name incantation. I started it as well, but the Reavers ended up dead even without the true name being spoken.
I was actually surprised by it, but went on my merry way without a second thought about it. LOL
So, maybe in that instance you don't need the scrolls, just muscle power and a construct at your side. heh
