Quest help Axle wants me to kill Moire

Axle has just contacted me and wants me to kill Moire. I have followed her goons to her hideout but I can't get in. If I go back and kill Axle journal is updated saying that Moire will pay me lots of gold, but I still can't talk to her. Any suggestions here and which path is better, killing Axle or Moire or both :) Thanks!

Sounds like a bug to me, try updating to the 1.03 final patch, hopefully that will fix it for you, if not i'm afraid I can't suggest anything else - apart from asking on the official forums - but maybe someone else can.

I am having the EXACT same problem. Followed guy to her lair, but can't get in. I'm at the point now where I may just go kill Axle out of spite - and odds are I would have had to kill him eventually regardless - but it would be nice to see how things were supposed to play out.

First of all, all you sure you followed the right guy? You should follow the last guy.
I don't remember the actually house, but i think you've been there before on another quest.
It's a house on the upper right corner of the merchant quarter.

Following the guy to the door will trigger a scene when the thug has to say a password to enter.
Remember the password and walk to the door and say it. That should open the door.

I chose to kill both of them. Their arrogance started to get on my nerves ^^
Guess i'll never find out what to gain by letting one of them live.

I killed moire got 20k gold or so from the quest and haven't heard from axle since. Only thing I've seen is that the guy in my keep seems to say I'm part of the "big boys" now. But he would probably say the same if I would have killed both.

I must say I followed the right guy but nothing happened. I have the 1.03 patch so that isnt the problem. I believe it must be a bug. I hate bugs by the way but dont we all :p.

I am updated to the latest patch and I can't get the theif to move! He runs away from the prior scene and I follow the "slow" one but he won't move. I can't even get to Moire's to trigger the movie part.

Great. Now the guy I am following has disappeared entirely. I tried staking out Moire's place, but no other thieves have approached. I can't go on in my shadow thieves path until I do this quest, and I can't find Axle's house again. I am completely frustrated about this. I have been very happy with the game by and large, and this is the first major bug I have hit, but it has me stopped cold. The thief I followed was the "slow" one after the rest of them triggered the trap. I followed him a ways, then he just stood there, so I went around the corner to see if he'd move, and when I returned he was gone! Help!

Hey Izmorgan, welcome to the thieves-guild.

Well as you can see I didnt end the quest and nobody seemed to be able to help me with it though. I hope the bug is fixed since the last patch but I dont know that.

I may be able to help you a tiny bit though since you should be able to get back to Axles house though. But that doesnt help either cuz if you go there he just asks if you already did the job. You can either answer that you didnt and are still on it or you can say you come for him. That of course is also a way to end the quest :p.

Anyway, I was able to follow the dude, the slow one, until he reached the hideout. Its different from the place where you meet Moira for the first time but that is because that part isnt reachable anymore. So I could follow him until his house IF you dont touch the guy. If you touch him, I mean if you click on him and you catch up, he turns toward you and just stands there. That is a bug of course. Even then, if you dont touch him and he doesnt go further, try walking close to him. Should work too. And then if that all goes well he should be running to a house right outside the park.

In my case he just stood there, did nothing at all actually. But as you can read here a little intermezzo should start where you can see the guy behind the door asking for a password. Never happened to me though. So after you got the password you just have to knock on the door and tell them the password.

I was able to find an answer that worked on another forum. If you save RIGHT AFTER you talk to Axle and accept the assignment, but before you leave his house, AND if you follow the last thief from the storage area without touching him, it works.

I had difficulties completing this quest as well, I had to try it 3 times before I could get it to work right.

Did you follow Moire's guy to the end of the alley where they are smuggling Magical Weapons, then follow the fast thief? He runs to an unmarked door, and locks himself inside. You have to give him the correct password then, or he just tells you to go away.

I saved before I took off chasing the thieves, and finally after trying twice it worked on the third time. It just seems buggy still.
