Hey All,

One thing i've always thought was a shame, is that you have never been able to play Modules etc. as your characters companions... so I thought, why don't I do something about it?

After downloading Gffedit a few days ago and after having experemented with this a bit, I worked out that this would be possible!

So anyway, i've started working on making making the companions playable for modules (or the Official campaign if you want to make the game confusing :p)

I decided to start with Elanee and work from there... Edit: Elanee, Bishop, Sand, Neeshka and Shandra are now completely playable! The name is shown correctly, and as is the character model, race etc. see the screenshots below - click them for a large picture :)

As of 15th December I have started working on this project again, as all my work I needed to do has been done.

Comments, feedback and suggestions are much appreciated.
And no, I am not the one to ask to make new character models etc. as I know nothing about that.

01/01/2007 - Playable Companion Pack one has now been released, this contains Bishop, Elanee and Sand. And is available for download...

Personally i'd probably like to go with the bonus pack idea too, but i'll leave it up to you guys!

Let me know which you want it to be - do you want characters as soon as they are finished? - or do you want them all released at once, along with at least specially designed custom items for each character?

Can we use these characters only for mods or for the official campaign as well? If they are designed for mods, then I guess I can wait until you release them all at once. I don't know of any mods yet. :)

They can be used for mods, or in the official campaign, however it may get kinda confusing if you have two of the same character everywhere in the official campaign :p

I am likely to get all the characters done within a few days of starting work on them again, the additional items etc. shouldn't take much longer either.

you got my vote for extras as well, though I probably won't touch NWN2 until an expansion comes out, as the expansion for wow comes out soon(hopefully) and then my time will be dedicated to that. Nice project though, you get props.

I have two questions about this pack thing, although I admit not having read the whole thread. Still, it'd be cool if u could add their answers on the first post.

anyhow, here they are:

Q1: what happens in the moment you are supposed to get the respective companion? for example, in the moment you go to the sunken flagon and bishop is forced to come along, do you still get him (therefore being two Bishops in the party, the main char and the companion) or you get a replacement NPC ?

Q2: Is there any chance you could, instead of allowing us to choose an npc for our main char, to let us multiclass our companions? I'm asking this because I really dont see a need to allow us to be the NPCs when you can just multiclass them, which is the only "unique" feature the true main character gets.... Besides, hasnt ever annoyed you that you cant multiclass them ?

I can answer your question 1) These playable NPC's he created are for player made modules. It would be wierd to play them in the OC. I am pretty sure btcentral mentions this when he was making them. :) It gives everyone a chance to play there favorite NPC's.

I have no answers on the second queastion. I'm sure someone will come along and answer it for you.

That would be because that release is a hack pack, the difference with this is that they are re-coded into the player character in effect, and multi-classing would work fine if I set it to be enabled, however I set it to be disabled, so that they were as close to the OC as possible.

on the uniqueness regard, i find a npc more unique if they have , for example, lvls in prestige classes than if they are just some pure, dull, base class char.....

but well, i will keep my hopes up

:D I was just wondering if you were gonna make two versions of Kelghar (1 as a monk and the other as a fighter), or if only one which version? I think it would be great to have him as both versions. Just my opinion though, but i like the effort you have put in it so far. :D

I saved the game and converted him to the Monk....I was unimpressed. I switched back to the save where I kept him as a fighter...he's more effective for me in my style of play.

Unfortunately this project is on hold until my new modding/gaming rig is setup, which will be at the earliest sunday next week, as i'm having problems with Nwn2 on my laptop and so am unable to do any testing of the characters.

Hopefully it will be on track again soon and there'll be plenty more releases in the not too distant future!

Feel free, just be sure to link back to here somewhere in the readme or something :) - Just make sure to include them with the module, don't provide them as a seperate download, that's not allowed.

First of all let me say thanks for doing this, it is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I am REALLY looking forward to Neeshka and Qara, my two favorite characters in NWN2. In fact, I have halted my play on the "Endless Dungeon" Module until Neeshka comes out (No pressure ^_^), cause I can't go dungeon raiding without my favorite "treasure hunter", now can I?

I do have a minor question. I have downloaded the first character pack and I have noticed that all three characters (Sand, Bishop, and Elanee) are level 20's. Is there anyway to have to them start at level 1 like my character?

You can just use debugmode to de-level them for now, check out our "cheatcode" section.

I'll likely release level 1 versions of them too however at a later date.

No, the downloads will be provided on the download section here as in the same section as the current download. What I meant was when we decide how we are going to release a further pack/packs e.g. if the releases will be stagered, e.g. 3 characters at a time, or all the remaining characters released in one pack, things like that.
