View Full Version : How do you use your screen layout? - Just Interested
Hey All,
I was wondering how you all had your screen setup for Nwn2, and if you used any UI mods etc.
I like mine as shown below, the big map was just too big, as was the mini-map, so they've been made smaller, character bar has been moved to the left - and is moveable if I wanted to put it elsewhere, mini-map to the right top corner, the stats screen has been modified so more information is shown and the inventory screen shows all the items in one screen :) - I think it's a much nicer layout than the default one - oh and my screen res for playing is at 1280x800 - I play on my laptop (which only has Intel GMA 950 graphics, but using 3d-analyze to allow me to actually start the game :D it is very useable on my 1.6Ghz Intel Core Duo, 1GB ram lappy) - and allows me to set all the graphics settings to Max, except shadows which it only allows on minimum for some reason ... although my PC is supposed to be better, it doesn't like my GeForce FX 5500 graphics card I have in my PC it is *extremely* and if I try to play on my PC it is slow for some reason :p

i use everything on default ... but your screen really looks beautiful ... like nwn2+ :)
nice really. .. can you provide a link with the gui your using ..
I zipped up all the files for you and put it on my "storage" website (you'll notice if you goto http://www.btcentral.org you'll just get redirected to http://www.btcentral.org.uk (my business' website :p), it's only a 16KB download so you'll have it in seconds :)
You can get it here (www.btcentral.org/nwn2/UI.zip) - Just unzip to My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\ui\default and you should have the same screen layout, if not, just drag the mini-map where you want it, and the same with the character bar (there is an invisible dragspot slightly to the top, right hand corner of the bar - click just to the right of your character image and drag)
Enjoy!
Important Note: There *is* a bug in the Inventory screen shown in the screenshot, being that sometimes nothing shows in it, I got tired of switching between characters to actually see my items so removed the inventory screen patch so it went back to it's default settings. If you also want to remove this file just delete "inventoryscreen.xml"

yes, but i was wondering about the specific thing as apposed to the whole of it,

lol,
ok, i was wondering about how btcentral got rid of the tabs in his inventory. im assumeing that it is somewhere in the xml sheet on his download thingy for the override dir. but i had though it might have been due to playing on a high res.
that and i think i might inquire into the bug and who wrote the xml sheets.

Meh... his not her...
And you have to use "inventoryscreen.xml" from http://www.btcentral.org/nwn2/UI.zip
Problem is... it's bugged if you use the inv a lot.

I have been finding that my UI is taking up too much screen space...Im not seeing enough of the world...I may give this a try but am concerned about the inventory bug...I use the inventory screens a lot...
Do you lose things or do they just not show up some times?
I just use my layout in the default setting.
yup, nothing special there! :D

@ btcentral:
How much shared memory does your intel graphic card have?
I have a MacBook myself, and I'm dual booting it with Gentoo.
Perhaps WinXP can have a peace of the HDD, just minimum and space enough for nwn2 :D
Upto 256MB, i have 1GB RAM - it shares it. :p
One of the peices of ram is actually Apple RAM O.o - but works fine
