Please, does anybody know how to kill the third Shadow Reaver (the one with knockdown/heal ability? He just doesn't want to die!
Thank you!
Ana
Same as all the other Shadow Reavers, use the scroll (make sure to stay on the character casting until the white light goes up, as otherwise they may have just started attacking it again) then attack it.
Hey presto! It's dead. ;)

Hello!
Thanx for the reply, but I have some more questions - I've done the reading, saw the pillar of light (Jerro did the honors), and proceeded to pound the reaver. But, what happens is that he gets to around half of his HP, and then - boom! Hits all of my characters with something that makes them fall to the ground and heals himself completely in the process. Since the guy also has sneak attack all the time, he eventually kills my group, leaving only me standing. And he doesn't die! Is it a question of persisting for an hour or two (you know, chugging healing potions and just pounding), or is there a trick to the proceedings?
Thanx,
Ana

Unfortunately the only way to do it is by persistance, if you can't kill it, my advice would be either to lower the difficulty level in game options, or to level your characters more before attempting to kill them.
Hope this helps!

Yup, I was afraid you will say that... But I have to say that it makes for a very uneven gameplay - I'm playing on easy, have a good strong group (level 18 or 19), and I can get through all situations with almost no problem - which is for now the point (to see what the game has to offer before going in deeper). And then I get to the bloody Shadow reaver, where I can enter combat, go for a coffee, make lunch, have a walk after lunch (they say it's healthy :) ), come back, and my characters are still in combat...
Thanx anyway!

If all else fails you could always cheat... it takes the fun out of the game... but may be your only way.
Select your main character
Open Console (`)
Type DebugMode 1
Type dm_god
(hitting enter after each line) this will enable god-mode for your character, you can of course do this for all your characters if need be by selecting the different ones and repeating.

Did it, of course - only needed to REALLY make sure that Amon Jerro reads the scroll.
Thanks!

No problem :) glad you managed to do it :D
Really haven't had time to check out all the spells, but isn't there a 'silence' spell, or something like it? Just curious.

silence, that the one that stops anyone from casting spells with a vocal component?
i must say the only time i remember seeing a light was the first time, when jerro automatically reads the scroll. the other times i told him to read it and then jumped into combat with the other char's

Hmmm - that's a really good question - it may be possible that you have to be really quick so that the reaver doesn't have time to cast silence? Or we are all tripping here and it is all really random :-)

im not sure what your saying ana. silence doesn't knock anyone down, you just cant cast most spells, as you cant talk
If you get too close, one of the reavers I seem to remember can knock your whole party down, however it's nothing to do with the silence spell.

Sorry - what I was talking about is that it seems that Ammon Jerro doesn't always read the scroll with the True Name. So, the question was that maybe Shadow Reaver casts silence, so Jerro can't read the scroll. The continuation of that thought was - and maybe we are just tripping :-)
Ana
Zhje and Ammon can both read the True name scroll.. and the distance for this is quite far... my suggestion is to engage the shadow reavers on the far side of the little bridge/walkway there and have the one reading the scroll a few paces away from even being on the bridge/walkway... that way they aren't effected by the knockdown/silence and they can continue to speak the true name... just gotta stay in control of them while they cast it each time for the 3 reavers.

I took control of Ammon Jerro and kept him up on the hill while all the other ran down to attack. I have the scroll of True Names in one of his quick slots and I just right clicked on it, selected use and pointed it at the Shadow Reaver. Once the spell had completed, I took control of my PC and finished him off. :D

Yes, there are "silence" scrolls, but I haven't really put them to use yet.
Oh and as for killing the 3rd Reaver - I thought they would automatically initiate the name chanting LOL When I finally figured out that I had to activate it like a spell, it worked.
Khelgar kept knocking the reaver down, so that bought Ammon time to finishe the incantation. LOL
After trial and lots of error, my tactics for killing the reavers are
Either the Gith chick or Ammon Jerro to stand there ground a ways behind me.
I get myself and my henchman on the reaver. Then click on Jerro or the Gith chick to speak the true names. It almost always works :p

I had the same issue the first couple of attempts. Then I remembered what worked against the 2nd reaver when I was totally oblivious to Amman needing to read the scroll and was pounding on the guy for like 10 minutes.
I waited for Amman to read the scroll until after I had killed off the blade golems...presto, no problem. So I'm wondering if they built in some sort of mechanism into the game to prevent you from killing off the reaver too easily.
Nope, it's just due to the poor companion AI, they will simply stop reading the scroll and attack it if you change character and they are too close to the reaver.

yeah, Ammon and the gith have ADD when it comes to reading that scroll... it's like "g..aa.rr...ii..u.. ooo colorful spells..*starts casting*"
