Essentials on Essences

Foolishly, I sold all my essences from Acts 1 & 2, expecting to be able to either purchase or find high quality weapons. I have since realised my mistake, however none of the merchants that I sold them to are available in Act 3.

Short of cheating, is there any way to obtain more? Can they be crafted? Is there a merchant who sells thems, or perhaps is there a mob drop that will contain some?

Any help would be most appreciated.

get them from ghoul claws and other items...
just examine most things but you need a high alchemy skill to extract the essences ;)

Is it possible that Deekin or the Drow merchant (assuming you recruited him) have some items that you can extract essences from? I didn't pay attention to Deekin's inventory in that regard because I had built up a hefty stash of essences and kept them with my main character. (Just in case some dreaded disappearing Npc bug hit my machine).

What about the mage tower at the keep? I didn't buiild the mage tower so I have no clue if they might be available there.

I totally lost track of what drops I got in chapter three (or earlier for that matter) that could be converted into essences. I'm on my second run-through now, so I'll try to keep track of what drops I got and where. Might be a good addition for the walkthrough. :)

I do remember that Shadow priests almost always dropped items that essences could be extracted from.
