Crystal Dragon Heart Bug

I can't attack the crystal dragon heart. I fought the 2 black dragons, but afterwards it won't let me resume my attacks on the heart. Of course I saved after the battle with the dragons, which was a mistake it turns out now.

Worse yet, I thought maybe I could just skip the heart, and go on. But it autosaved when I left the area, yet I can't return to West Harbour on my map to reforge the sword. So now all my recent saves are of a corrupted game where I can't destroy the heart, and can't go on. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you possibly right click it and select "bash" ? That is what I had to do. Hope that helps, If not, I am sure someone here can help :)

Thank you! I was about to go back to an old save which was just before you fight the red dragon and the fire giants... wow... I certainly wasn't looking forward to that.

I was unable to use the heart to bash it after the fight. To fix this go to the valley and do the following.
