View Full Version : Who ditched the possible romance?
Greetings gamers!
I've only played a female character. So I don't have the male experience with that side of this lame romance available in NWN2. Although I like the main story, the romance was a short coming of the story. It did not blossom, it just happened, what seemed out of the blue with Casiveer and Bishop's chat in the Keep. I really could not pick up on any possible romance or "his" feelings until this point. Maybe I'm loosing my female instinks? lol
I decided to tell Casiveer "thanks but no thanks" I may carry it through in my now second run out of curiousity.
What do ya'll think about this romance? I feel it could have been improved greatly. At least get a true sense something was happening between the PC and NPC. I'm a woman and a sucker for a good romance story. This one was less romantic than a blind date with a troll!

If you talk to him well before that he will hint at it. He says things like you calm him and such. It was obvious imo atleast.
still liso has a point...
no thought put into it..
and btw, the whole 1 scene of romance sucks!
the romance for the female charecter starts in the tavern actually, and then there's a scene, i forget where it is, where bishop and casivir get in a jealous hissey fit. The romanc for playing a guy though, really does come out of no where. You get a small hint when yo go find the corrupt elder druids, but that's it.
The game seems to hint at romantic interests, from a number the female NPC's. I'm playing a fighter, and actually, the first sign I get is Neeshka's jealousy. She can be a real spitfire when another female joins the group, she hates that. Shandra seem to be getting interested, but she died. Now I'm getting signals from Elenee, and Neeshka is very jealous. Zhjaeve shows no interest at this time. And Qara seems indifferent, too hostile. Ive been kind of wondering what is going to happen. If I had to choose, I would probably pick Elenee. Neeshka is too wild and temperamental.:p
I liked the love story in Fallout 2. A lttlte sweet talk, a little hanky-panky, and then the shotgun wedding.
and then the shotgun wedding.
You meant Death Sentence ;) :p
well, so far, I had only a small taste of the rivalry between Bishop and Casavir. I actually want to go after Bishop, like the bad boy attitude. LOL
Unfortunately, he is not an official romance interest. *sigh*
I played as a Male Human Rouge (Lawful Good) - Well, Rouge, Fighter (two levels - wanted heavy amour and the likes), Divine Champion and last but not least - Neverwinter Nine... but anyway.
Playing as a male character makes the love "sub-plot" - if you can call it that, with Elanee more subtlety obvious throughout the story, however as the result of this makes no change what so ever in the characters interaction etc. after the event, the addition of this seems extremely pointless, if they are going to put something like this in, it should at *least* change their interaction, and possibly some of the storyline.
But that's just my opinion :p
I hate that Casavir guy. Too bad there's no happy ending when you choose Bishop. Well, not one they would bother writing about anyway. But I still find it so cool that for once someone actually made two so-to-call romances for female chars (in the original game, I mean)! And with better content than those for male ones, I'd guess, with Casavir and Bishop being of totally oposite alignments! Heh, I't so cool when you take them both in the party, they can barely agree on anything :)
But I still think those romances to be a little messed up.

Casiveer is so uptight he probly bathes with his armor on :p Bishop is much more interesting. "bad boy thing" If they would have put some more thought into it, gave it some more depth and CHOICES! who to pick, it would have been so much better. The little bit of dialog and depth the writer put into the romance, I wonder why they even bothered! lol I'm married with children "married forever now" and my life has better romance than that. To top it off, I have a two year old! hehe :D
Whoa! Children even? I wonder how you can find time to play then.
I like how much the npc-s have to say about some matters in the game, especially the two ever-fighting guys. And the fact that there are two male npcs interested in the main character is... well... a step forward in the history of romances-for-fem-PCs in Faerun. The only thing left for our humble game inventors to work on is the depth of it all. ;)

Mommies are gamers to! lol Since I am blessed with the ability to be a stay at home mom, I have a little more time to play as well. Me and my 2yo make a game out of mommy having to clean, vaccume etc. We sing songs, do our ABC's and 123's all while I get my house work done. Sooooo nap time I get to play!!! and there is bed time. They go to bed hours before I do. I am not sure why so many think mommies don't game! Oh yes, and my wonderful inlaws take our kids every Satuday evening for over night visits Yay Me! I think the care less to see us. The kids however! Get spoiled rotten by them.
I'm going to show my age here. But I owned an Atari the month they came out :p Before that some stupid game called "pong" Then Nintendo etc etc etc.
Sadly enough, I know all the songs to the Wiggles, The Doodlebops, and Higgly Town Hero's "sighs" Oh yes and all the Veggie Tails bed time songs. My real music seems to have taken a back burner to Twinkle Little Star :D
Maybe I should make a sig "Mommies can be gaming NERDS! lol
Well as mature (ish) female Im playing a male monk in the game and the druidess just jumped on me at the siege of Crossroads Keep (the strumpet) So I let them spend the night together - they get woken up next day by a soldier but it`s like it never happend - no change in the inter-action or conversation whatsoever. Very strange - almost like a half hearted attempt to give the characters a bit more depth!!
Maybe its not such a bad thing that the dialogue doesn't change. The morning after can be so awkward. :)
Many were thinking it, I just said it...

Despite my elf rogue being obviously evil Elanee still seems to hint that she's perhaps jealous of Neeshka (even though I've spent hardly any time with her since I don't need her rogue skills). Shandra also seems to pay a bit more attention to my character than you might think from a 'good' aligned, maybe they like 'bad boys'? I'm guessing that different conversations come up based on race/sex/alignment just as different conversations happen depending on who's in your party when you visit each area.
When it comes to family online gaming i've actually had to babysit someone's kids in a NWN PW (the mom, dad and two children all played NWN together). I've also had cases of boyfriend/girlfriend and father/son parties in NWN. Who says online gaming is solitary?

Aaah that explains it - bet it was a man behind this little sub plot - but come on - not even a half hearted - I`ll phone you later I promise, but I`ve got to go kill some shadow wraiths!!:D ;)
If I had to choose, I would probably pick Elenee. Neeshka is too wild and temperamental.:p
I'd pick goatgirl over treehugger anyday. I actually find those horns kinda cute...

LOL ... I hear ya. I also remember when the first Atari came out and was totally fascinated by "Pong" heh. Besides NWN, I am an avid Oblivion fan and I even RP on a forum about that game ... I'm the oldest person there!! What's up with that?
Game on!! (at least we can afford them now LOL)
Oh - back on topic. Well, I'm leading the paladin on, right now, trying to see how far he'll take this romance thing. I actually wanted to go after Bishop!! Dang, Devs - give a girl some choices here!! :D

I think my husband would never even notice. YES! I am married to a clueless man! hehehehe
Ever have someone in your life that you can talk and talk and talk to, Then ten minutes after you stop talking, they finally answer you? By this time I forgot what I was talking to him about :p I had already moved onto 5 different things by the time it registers in his bran I said anything. eeeew! Selective hearing. If he is playing WoW and doing an instance or a battle ground, It is pointless to even set myself on fire! lol
Sad part. I'll catch him watching me play NWN2, and he still can't seem to hear me.
He does take out the trash though :p
My Sorceress, Ilya Andrenlin, did say something nasty to Casavir and the whole thing on the castle walls never happened.
Hey I'm really new to this site but i found it on my quest to find a romance guide for NWN2. I was hoping that there would be homosexual possibilities after the release of KOTR2. Since it had the options, even though the male was quite hideous. I made my drow male in hopes to have a male companion. I first wanted Cassiver but later wanted Sand. I suppose after reading this forum there is no such options. It's such a pity too. I was reallly hoping that NWN2 would have that option. = /. looks like i will have to wait a bit longer for high class RPGs to include that.
But it isn't all bad, my favorite still dates back to the last NWN expansion. Shadows of Undertide i think it was called? Where your female character got to woo that very attractive Teifling. I miss him lol. Though I am pleased that they brought Deekin from the game, i would rather have met that teifling again haha. It's so sad = / i dont like any of the females enough to give my drow away lol. I'll have to wait till i beat it with them to make a female character to finally get what i want!
*swings cane at Liso* Darn women, always talkin never sayin nothin... heh heh
ROTFLMAO
