You must set the ad_network_ads.txt file to be writable (check file name as well).

this may be a stupid question but do your animal companions go up i lvl if you multiclass like lvl 6 ranger and then change to fx fighter??

your animal companion will only be as high as the class you have is, that is allowing you to have it.. IE: lvl 6 ranger = lvl 6 animal companion
