hi guys love the web sight
ok here goes hope some1 can help me out
i love nwm2 played this all week done all the side quests am in neverwinter
on the gray ghost ship quest and cant get any further
i killed all the guys on the dock and started fighting ahja the azure and just as i was about to kill him my hero stopped fighting him and now i cant get onto the ship to finish the quest everytime i try to fight ata at the gray ghost all i can do is talk to him and he says something like [i hear you]
hope someone can help as i totally love this game and cant wait to see the rest of the world.
i edited your post. please do no post in upper case.
you dont atually ever go on the ship, you just kil the sailors and the mage , then go report back.
is there a way to make my hero kill ahja the azure
all he wants to do is talk to him ive even tried using my sorcerer but he doesnt lose any health
is he hostile?
if not then thats what i am missing absolutly in nwn2.
back in nwn1 you could just attack anybody you wanted, as it should be imho.
in nwn2 you cannot attack friendly npcs.
it kinda ruins the immersion. wheres the sense in rollin up an evil char concept?
its sad. i really do hope that obsidian will adress this issue on future patches.

hmm.. wierd, yeah, when i did that quest... i killed the sailors, then attacked the ahja... got him down a bit, and the fighting stopped, i talked to him, then he went back to hostile and some more sailors popped out of no where.. looted the corpses, and reported back to the watch..
When you right click on your character, it brings up a list of commands. You should be able to command him to fight, unless it's a bug.

I didn't think there was an attack command in NWN2?
In NWN you had full radial menu access for anything you could select, allowing you to force attack or cast spells or activate combat actions like knockdown on creatures before they were even hostile. In NWN even if you throw a fireball near friendly NPCs it does nothing, even on Hardcore mode with full PvP settings. You also had radial menu access for each quickslot too allowing you to add modes, actions, spells and even emotes to a quickslot, sadly this is not in NWN2 (anyone know how to quickslot stealth mode btw?).
Anyway, back to the subject. Either good or evil all you do is fight the guards at the ship, then battle Ahja, once he gets to 0 hp then he'll stop the fight and talk to you, finish the conversation and then finish him. Loot the bodies and return to whoever gave you the quest.
There are a LOT of battles interrupted with "last words" conversations in NWN2, you can't skip them either although usually the last option in the list is something like "enough talk, die!" which speeds it up. You just have to get used to it. Equally a lot of battles are started via conversations, infact nearly all of them which is annoying since if you play a rogue that means it is impossible to sneak up on them, since as soon as you get near they start the conversation, immediately followed by the battle, makes 'assassinations' a bit more difficult since they always spot you before the fight due to the forced conversations (NWN2 really isn't designed for PC rogues or even any evil aligned characters).
This is a documented bug. Some people get hit with it, others don't. If you're one of the unlucky, as am I, you need to enter the console and debug as follows:

That at least enabled me to finish the Ahja fight, so thank you. I've saved under a different name in case the game gets bugged as a result--hope not!
