I really need help. I 'm playing NWN II right now. Which works fine...and I'm brand new and really want to learn all things related to it. Great game.

But I have a really serious problem...I finally bought NWN I (diamond edition) and apparently it's not "compatiable" with Windows Vista...I really hate this OS but it's all I got right now and really want to play NWN I with all the modules including KIngmaker.....please please can someone tell me how I can play NWN I and the mods on my computer with Windows Vista? Please say it's possible. I have a chronic health problem with my back which makes me immobile for long periods of time...hence this game...if you know any way to help me you'd be my best friend of all time ...space...and deminsion..:)

hi there and welcome to the thieves-guild.net

have you tried the compatibility mode yet?

right click on your nwn exe and choose properties and then compatibility. choose winxp sp2 from the list and try again.

cheers

in the directory where you have nwn installed, find nwn.exe (cannot remember anymore what the executable file was called that launches the game). right click on that file and from the popup choose properties (below). in the new window select compatibility from the tabs above and then choose WinXP SP2 from the list.

click OK.

after that, try to start the game again.

I purchased recently the NWN I Diamond edition and was all excited to come home and get my little greedy paws into the game...but lo and behold...it said VISTA is not compatible with it...I then tried to do what was suggested on here which was to go in and select compatibility mode for service pack 2 and that hasn't worked either....why oh why do companies do this .... I've developed a phobia now of buying video games and fearing that they may or may not work on my computer...which is pretty snazy btw. But this compatibility issue is a bummer much....does ANYONE ...Cal or Ryan ? do you guys know what I can do? Lurch? maybe you? sigh...:( please?

anyways,
