I am in part 2, and am trying to fix up Crossroads keep. After talking to Torio and she mentions recruiting West Harbor people I realize that West Harbor is totally missing from my map. Is there something I need to do to get it to show up?

I hope it is not a bug and that I have to start all over from the last chapter.

There's only one NPC that can recruit from West Harbour, Orlen, but he doesn't really help you with the keep at all. The essential NPCs to recruit are the Sergeants, the Miners, the weaponsmith and armorsmith. Orlen is more eye candy and can be ignored.

IIRC, west harbour should still be there. There is a plot development that affects West Harbour later on and you do have to make a return visit in act 3. I honestly can't recall whether WH actually disappears from the map for a while or not.

My guess is, you didn't go right away, as soon as you got the Keep, to West Harbor. When you go to the Ruins of Arvahn, you will see a cutscene, where Ammon Jerro and his minions raise West Harbor to the ground. After that and once you complete all quests in Arvahn, West Harbor is only accessible through the Song Portal in Arvahn and it's a ghost town, allmost everybody is dead. There is a slim chance that you might find Orlen in Port Llast - at least that's the case with the Armorers, if you don't recruit them early enough.

If all above does not apply, I must assume that you have encountered a unique bug or game glitch. In this case, it would help if you could provide some more information:

1. your game version (latest stable game version 1.21.154)
2. are you using any custom content (look in override and hak folder of your Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2 folder).

Thank you both for your replies. :)

Well as I found out I got to West Harbor through the song portal. But then I went and did another foolish thing, forgetting to return after doing the last ritual... which of course couldn't be completed yet. I guess that was a no-no.

I have my armorer, weaponsmith, Deekin, and Katriona. And that one dude, Guyven (spelling?) although I can't find him anywhere at Crossroads now. I also have two miners.

I'm assuming everything is as should be after all and that I panicked for no reason. I don't have any cc or hacks as this game was given to me by a friend and didn't come with the key, or even a guide book. So I can't make a darn thing like I could in the original NWN for use in my game. A pity.

You're welcome. :D

You aren't missing anything essential by not having Guyven - just a little XP and one magic item. You might be able to spawn Guyven in using the console but if everything else is working fine, I would just give it a pass.

The OFFICIAL guidebook has a number of errors in it. You might check out our Walkthrough or Maps section if you need a budge in the right direction.

As for the toolset, try posting in our Modding section if you need some pointers. One of our mods can our probably answer your questions. :D

You're such a sweetie!

I've checked the walkthrough earlier. It is excellent!

You mentioned the toolset... I was thinking that without the key that I couldn't create anything in toolset to use in my game, even if I am playing single play. When I tried it prompted me for the key and I just gave up. LOL!

My bad. I just assumed that everyone had access to the toolset. :)

I think I was unclear. I do have toolset, and I made some equipment, but when I wanted to use it for my saved character I was prompted for the key. I forget all the details, but I remember I was so disappointed. Oh well, I guess I should just be grateful that I have the game.

But here is something else. My character is a female paladin and after becoming one of Lord Nashers nine she is given a tunic, but she can't wear it. What the heck! She has the light armor feat.

THe Neverwinter nine tunic is actually a cloak not a set of armor. Are you equipping it in your cloak slot?

I have no idea why game is prompting you for the key for those hand made items.

I believe you meant that the Neverwinter Nine Tunic is a tunic, and not a cloak, kgambit.

You get the Neverwinter Knight's Cloak by Nevalle in the start of the ceremony, and the Neverwinter Nine Tunic when you been through Neverneath and helped Lord Nasher against the Shadow Reaver. When you are knighted.

And the reason why the OP can't wear the Tunic is because it's not enough to be a member of the Neverwinter Nine.

The Tunic is class specific, where the Cloak is not.

So you have to take at least a level in the Neverwinter Nine Prestige class, or having skills points in UMD, to wear the Tunic.

Oh! Okay, well that explains it then. I guess I should read up on the Prestige class tutorial. At least I know it is not a bug, lol! Ah.. thanks for the help.

@ kgambit, can I borrow your game key?

LOL, j/k!

Ok, now I'm curious: how is it possible to have a working game without a key? AFAIK, you can't even install the game without a valid key.

I'm not sure. My friend gave me the game because he was leaving to go to university and he installed it for me on my computer, showed me a bit about how to play. Then he left. He wrote the game key down for me, but he obviously got some of it wrong. I told him about it, but he said that he doesn't have the manual anymore, or if he did it was in Australia with all his storage junk. So, I'm stuck without a key until he goes home and looks. Which won't be until June. All of this occurred when he came for a month visit over the summer to my house.

Go to the main program files directory

C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2

and look for a file called nwncdkey.ini

it will have all your cd keys in there.
