I'm feeling so proud.:)

I was just wondering what items you all would buy in Act I, either for the magic or for future crafting once you have a keep to hang your hat.

Oh! One other question...I've read often about how the paladin can magically enhance a silver blade with a spell but somehow I've never made that work. Could someone tell me the steps and especially the crafting level needed?

Welcome to the forums. :D

At the bare minimum, you need to buy a smith hammer and a mortar and pestle. Without those two items, you won't be able to combine or distill essences or smith magical items for future enchantment.

Beyond that, keep an eye out for item molds. Depending on the type of armor and weapons you are interested in, you will need to have the appropriate molds.

There are four distinct types of swords in the game that could involve a paladin:

the silver sword of gith - - plot item
the holy avenger - quest reward
a sword that's been temporarily enchanted using the Paladin's holy weapon spell
a crafted and enchantment alchemical silver sword

I suspect you are asking about the last one. The crafting process for the Original campaign is fully explained in the Crafting Guides (check the left hand column for the crafting guide appropriate to the game or expansion you are playing). :D

Girbberer, Sand in the Docks do have some high level gems I would buy, since his inventory will change in Act II.

Also Pap the Crafting Merchant in the Merchant's District also have high level gems to buy, but you can wait with that to Act II.

For a free Mortar and Pestle, Smith Hammer, some Molds and other crafting gear, make sure to empty the containers at the Crafting station in Fort Locke.

Purchased a few molds per the Crossroad Keep guide right here, specifically certain items best crafted for profit and/or funding the Keep.

Haven't purchased the gems from Sand but I will after a visit to a lair of assassins strangely labeled Githyanki Lair...hmm....with 80,000 gold I should be able to afford them.

Yes, selling everything to Sand pays off in Chapter 1, darn shame this ends soon.;)
