View Full Version : Help with the Neverwinter Nights 2 Original Campaign!
I know this is bit old to ask for this help, but I started playing NWN2 again coz I heard the new expansion coming up.
Anyway I started the original campaign after installing the MotB as well. The problem was when I was trying to enter the Ammano Jerro Heaven (I'm not sure about the spelling of names) I cannot use the Fiery Hearts dropped by the large fire elements to light up those 4 pedestals or something. The dropped down menu of those items show no option to use them.
Is this a bug caused by installing the MotB expansion? Or am I doing something worng? When I first played this I had no such problems.
So help anyone................... .......:( :( :( :(
I don't think there is a use option in the drop down menu with them. All you do is click on the braziers and they should light up.
I've seen posts related to this problem crop up occassionally. For some reason, despite having the correct number of firegiant hearts, it is impossible to get the braziers to lite.
Iirc, the problem is related to not having the game properly patched, perhaps because of the module fixes not being applied via a manual patching process or due to an error in certain non-English language versions. I hate suggesting you reinstall and then repatch using the auto-updater but I think that might be the only way to solve your problem.
Refer to the following two threads on the Official NWN2 OC forums:

Ignore the link in the first thread to the installation instructions, those are out of date and have been replaced by THESE:

There are couple of other threads on this in our OC forums, you might try doing a search on braziers to get some more background.

Thanks for the help man. But the thought of uninstalling and the re-installing the game just kills me. The version is an English one and I did not apply any patches after installing MotB. I'll also refer those links as well.
Thanks again for the help man and keep up the good work.:) :) :)

Glad to help. :D I hated suggesting the reinstallation, because it IS a major pain in the butt, but with the myriad of patches, sometimes it can't be avoided.
Without knowing exactly which pre-MotB patches you have installed, it's a bit tough to make definitive recommendations but I would probably recommend applying the post MotB patches first and see if that helps. I would recommend doing the autopatcher route. From everything I have read in those posts, this does appear to be a patch related issue. :D
