in the path under castle neverwinter I answerd one question wrong, the question about how many gates you have to pass from the harbor to the castle.
anyhows that ment I had to take one of the "secret" passages around to redeem myself, the thin is, in that passage there where three golems, whom I easly defeated and found three chest in a small "secret" room beside them. in one chest lay a magic armor and boot, in another some gold and in the third 25 adamantine bars and a blue diamond.

the thing is, had i answered the question correctly i would have missed them. my question is, is this the case with all the trials in the path? and if so, isn't it more profitable to answer the questions wrongly?

Of the first six statues, there are actually two chambers like that - at statues 3 and 6 iirc.

If you answer all questions correctly, you miss out on the treasure that you found, but you do get an extra bonus, the Blessing of the Daystar, in the crypt with the Rod of Never.

Blessing of the Daystar:
Longsword
Damage Bonus vs. Alignment Group: Evil [1d6]
Enhancement Bonus [+ 3]
Enhancement Bonus vs. Racial Group: Undead [+ 5]

I'm not sure if the treasure in any of the surrounding chests changes.

okay. the sword it self dosn't look very good, considering most undeads are neutral to my knowledge, secondly it requires one to use longswords which I seldom do. There are simply better undead killing weapons out there.

So disregarding roleplay, I would say its better to answer does questions wrong, to get access to does bonus treasures.

Provided the phat loot in the final vault isn't affected, I would agree with you. :D

The unique weapons and armor in the chests doesn't change (Mirrored Armor and Wizard's Ally), but the rest is random, which can be seen, if a save is made in the Burial Chamber.

A cheesy way to get a couple of high level gems is reloading until you get what you want in that chamber.

And yeah, seen from a loot point of view, I also agree. It is more profitable to answer the questions at statue 3 and 6 wrong.

From a RP view and if you're good, it would be more logical to answer all questions correctly. (IIRC you can actually lie when you pledge your loyalty to Neverwinter - evil option?)

Plus Blessing of the Daystar is a good sword IMHO, if you are a longsword user and don't want to craft.

You also do get more XP by answering correctly IIRC, which is interesting if you play a char with ECL or XP penalties where every bit of XP helps.

Anyway, I think it is nice that you can solve Neverneath according to your own taste.
