We were busy gathering information together to create a seperate section on our site called "Crossroads Keep" which will be a guide for every one who has gained the Keep and want to know more about running it.

You will find the link on your left.
If you have questions regarding the Keep, feel free to post it here.

A big thanks goes out to 'wandaien', the author!

Cheers

lol :p the boss wrote that... thanks for the credit.

What's up there posted right now is just info i've gathered personally and from the other mods.

We are currently looking into the input that other members have mentioned in reguards to the keep and will update the section as needed.

So feel free to post anything you feel may be a help in adding...

Currently looking into:
-Summoning side-quest in the basement reguarding power essences
-other ore locations throughout the game
-screenshots of the keeps progression and locations within for easier referencing

At what point do you get your keep? I thought that Nasher told me at the end of my trial that I was to get a keep, but I haven't got one yet.

I am currently about to go to rescue the batty old wizard whose name starts with A at a crossroads somewhere.

Hope I've not missed out on a keep as I'm lvl 14 now.

The "Crossroads" where you will rescue Aldanon is Crossroads Keep - and believe me, there is no WAY that you'd miss being appointed as the Captain of Crossroad Keep. ;)

Just keep on playing. :D

What I would like to have:

-List of all upgrades and costs.
-List of all characters you can recruit for your keep and where (ie, orlen in west harbor, mining team in old owl well, kobold shopkeeper from merchant quarters, the miner overseer from port Llast, katriona sergeant from old owl well, armorer from highcliff, weaponsmith from docks area).

And uhm that's around it.

Everything you listed apart from the upgrades/costs are shown on our Crossroads Keep (http://www.thieves-guild.net/index.php?pid=144) page - when I get to that stage in my new game i'll take note of the construction options/prices.

I found 2 unlisted Ore Veins, one in the Glowstone Caverns, and one in the Crossroad Keep Tunnels. I have only found one in the Bonegnasher Liar, however, despite the face the site lists 2. :( I have nt through it 4 times too.

truth be told... i've been going through some issues at home, and haven't had the chance to play in a few weeks. so i haven't been able to do any verifications on ore locations... or anything else for that matter really...

also, the ones that are listed in detail are those that I've put there.. ch. 2 and 3... the ones listed for ch 1 ore locations, are ones that other members said they found and reported...

i'm sorry...

No need to apologize, anyway the replies to the Thread Bardess posted also state there being only one in the bonegnasher lair...so it looks like I missed nothing in Chapter 1! Finally... I went through it with a fine-tooth comb 3 times, that is why I have yet to beat the game, I am making sure I do everything possible with my character...

I'd be interested in knowing how often you should send out the patrols. I imagined that my cloaks would be patroling the whole time I was out killing undead/orcs/etc elsewhere. When I get back, I learn that my road security is the same as it ever was. I grew quite frustrated at that.

When giving orders in the keep. greycloak assignments, rebuilding structures, etc... They will only do and progress 1 setting at a time per screenload...

EXAMPLE: If you tell the greycloaks to start on patrols, and you go off to the rites of purification quest. you don't return to the keep until it's done, and the situation hasn't changed. It's because it's like they only were out there for "one day"...

Tip and exploit: Tell Kana to assign the greycloaks to patrols. then walk over to Wolf's minion and tell him that you want to go to the farm, for example. This will zone you to the farm. then walk/zone your way back to the Keep's mainroom with Kana. Talk to her, see if she's got an update... do this a few times, and the reports will change. :)

thing is, the more you ask kana for a report AFTER a mission, quest, zoning around.. the more her reports will update.

more frequent zone transitions from location to location(even within the keep) will result in more frequent updates in the Keep's and greycloaks progression/reports.

hope this helps

I was treated to the Keep and introduced to the engineer and guard trainer during a scene, but when I go to the Keep there is no nPC charachters there! All the doors are locked and only a guard, a worker and Wolf. I can't interact with anyone so I went on to to the Tower. Am I missing something here? Where do you find the merchants the builders the captain...the Keep is empty.

Most of the folks you are looking for still have to be recruited, and you won't see the rest of your NPC's until all of the interior rooms are rebuilt (although they can still be accessed by leaving the WMP at the edge of the farmlands).

Most of your questions should be answered here:

Do you remember finding the ore deposits in chapter 1 and getting xp for them? If you did, then you have nothing to worry about - you don't have to actually go back to them after you get the keep. Just tell the miners that you have found them. They will retrieve the ore for you. :) All you have to do is FIND them in the first place. That's it - there is nothing more required.

However, if you either didn't see them or didn't get xp for them during chapter one, then you do have a problem, but not an insurmountable one. :) You can verify how many ore deposits you have found by doing this:

Go to the save game folder for your current game and look for a file called globals.xml. Copy that file to another folder to have a backup JUST in case this process doesn't work.

Now, open up the globals.xml file using wordpad and look for this string - you might have to scroll down quite a ways to find it -

Look for THIS

- <Integer>
<Name>01_Mineral_Count</Name>
<Value>8</Value>
</Integer>

Since you are in chapter 2, this number should be 8. If it is, stop and do not procede. You're fine. If it isn't change the number that appears to an 8, save the file and reload the save game. You're good to go.

It takes a total of 10 ore deposits to do all of the weapon and armor upgrades for your Greycloaks. Since you are in chapter 2, you can still go back and find the 3 locations there and still find 8 more in chapter 3. So you can still find enough ore to do everything. Look here (http://www.thieves-guild.net/index.php?pid=147) for a list of all the ore deposits in chapters one thru 3.

The only problem is that you will have to delay doing those the greycloak equipment upgrades.

Yeah, and if you delay the upgrades, morale suffers.

i would want to know what actual usefull stuff is provided with the tower (Nine or Wizard) and with the Monastery/church.....

ok, my friend "has" a monastery, towers and church still remain..... :)

The Church gives you access to "The Path of the Holy" subquest for good aligned clerics, paladins or evil characters looking to repent. Inventory is limited to a few powerful items against undead and a nice range of healing items.

The Monastery gives you access to a Monk subquest and some good monk items. I don't recommend the monastery unless your main character is a monk.

The NWN9 tower gives you access to a bunch of metal ingots for crafting, mithral 50, adamantine 50 and some decent weapons and armor including the red dragon armor.

The mage tower gives you access to wizard and sorceror items, but no special quest afaik.
