Q1: In the dwarven scouts, there is an encounter where the adventurers free a dwarf about to be eaten. Afterwards there is a conversation

option I tell Khelgar let's get moving

option II ask a question getting Khelgar to look at his behavior.

In option II, Khelgar flies into a rage, and won't move unless he is leading the party.

In the long run is option II better for getting Khelgar through this first trial?

I'm tempted to play both options and see, but it would be boring to play the cave part twice close together.

Q2: Is there anyway legal or a cheat to see what your influence with your companions is? I don't want to change it by a cheat, but I would like to know.

AFAIK, option two results in influence loss with Khelgar no matter what you say. Khelgar should not behave the way you describe however. And no, it has no bearing on the conclusion of the first trial.

You could use a character editor, like NWN2 Character Editor, found here (http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=nwn2tools.D etail&id=35). It has a tab with influence scores.

Or you can see it in the file globals.xml.

There is one in each savegame folder.

Open it with Internet Explorer or Notepad and search for Influence.

There is an easy way to check your influence with your companions.
Here's the steps:

1. ~
2. debugmode 1 (press enter)
3. rs kr_influence (press enter) [opens a conversation window about influence]
4. ~
5. The conversation window will ask if you want to change the influence of a companion, choose yes.
6. Choose the companion you wish to check the influence on, and increase his/her influence by one.
7. In the text window you will see a message saying "increase influence by 1"
"You have XX influence with "char name"
8. Follow the same procedure but choose decrease influence one, (back to what it was before you increased it)
9. ~
10. debugmode 0 (press enter)

I hope this helps.
