Problems becoming a divine champion

OK, I am a paladin with a base attack of 10 and a weapon focus in great sword, and the game will not let me become a divine champion. What gives? I have used the cheat option for extra feats. Does the game punish you for doing this?

Divine champion requires a BASE attack bonus of 7+ and weapon focus in a melee weapon so you SHOULD be good to go.

What level is your paladin?

My Paladin is level 11, so I should be good to go. I'm playing on a MAC, and have installed the latest patch 1.12

Well, unless the problem is caused by adding the required weapon focus feat (or any of the others) thru the cheat console, I am stumped.

I think the problem was using the cheat console to get the weapon focus. As an experiment I went back to the start, and used the givexp command to move rapidly to level 8. At level 8 I was able to dual class to Divine Champion. I don't know if this is a problem for PC users, but MAC users watch out.

I'll probably start over. Thanks for working with me on this.

I'd be curious to hear of other penalties the game inflicts on those who use the cheat console.

You will also encounter issues with persistent worlds that enforce legal characters if you choose to utilize the cheat console to add feats and/or alter stats.

Yes indeed. When you type "debugmode 1" you are requesting the server to allow you to enable debugmode. I am yet to see a PW that will allow a player to enable debug mode.

Although that's true about entering the debug console in PWs, what I meant was that utilizing the cheat console in the fashion I described will tag your character as illegal and THEN make it impossible to enter PWs that enforce legal characters.
