God mode - please, please somebody help!! (Spoiler)

I'm new to NN and to computer games in general, so basically I am not very good (but I am trying!!) (and before anyone lectures, the game was an early xmas present. I would have chosen something simpler to start with!)

I am trying to get through a tough bit and my characters keep dying. I want to use the god mode temporarily to help me advance a little but it doesn't seem to work properly. I am doing everything right - pressing the right key, typing in DebugMode 1 and clicking on the individual characters. The console comes up with "success" but I still die! Help, please!!

Okay. Simply typing in debug_mode 1, doesn't give you god mode. Once you type in debug_mode, type in 'commands'. This will give you a list of options. I believe god mode is 'dm_god'. I never use it, so I'm not positive. You should just have to type that in for god mode. And type it again to stop it.

but be careful. once used, you might ruin your fun. instead try to use another strategy to kill your foes. try everything out, try different spells, try different weapons. or leave the area and come back later when you got more effective items and higher levels.

believe me, god-mode will ruin your fun!

Lurchman sorry to correct you but your on the right path m8 ;)

You access the console by preesing the ` key (top left button, underneath escape)
Then you type

"DebugMode 1"
You have now entered the console, either used to gain an edge,
or to actually do what its needed for, Debugging :P

Now for God Mode type in "dm_god 1"
When you want to deactivate type "dm_god 0"

To exit debugging mode type "DebugMode 0" in the console window

If you dont deactivate you see lots and lots of little trigger placements and it really takes the edge out of the game, because..
A. It displays bright blue triggers everywhere (gets really annoying)
B. It lets you know when something is gonna happen (That takes the edge out of the game)

I know I shouldn't use God mode and I know it spoils the game but I honestly just need it to move out of one bit and then i shall continue on my own!!

No apologies are needed. I've never used God mode in any game I've played. So my knowledge of it, is limited. So thanks for the tip. Like the boss say's, there's more than one way to skin the cat.

I dont use it either,
But like every other game i play, i make it my goal to know what can and cant be done :P

Easier to answer questions that way..
Most of my knowledge of debug mode is from DMing NWN1 servers ;)
Its all the same console, except i dont get my lil pony anymore :(
