I Can't Update My Game

This problem is for both NWN2 and MotB. I just bundled my Internet, phone, and cable with WoW Cable (WayOutWest) and every time I go to update the games, the message comes up that no connection to the Internet is established...which makes no sense. It also eventually says that the server name and IP address aren't being recognized. It says also that I can try to force it and I do try still with no success. I contacted Atari almost a month ago and haven't heard back. I called WoW and the Tier Two tech said it's not their problem. This isn't the first time that "Internet Connectivity" has been an issue. WoW says it's not theirs, the other place says it's not theirs and in the meantime, I'm the one who can't get what she needs or can go where she needs.

So, I tried the old uninstall, reinstall trick and got burned. It didn't work and I got rid of my saved games on the off-chance that that might help. I didn't see this particular problem in amongst the search, so I'm asking and I'll beg if I must ;) can someone please help me? I'm not as tech savvy as I used to be. I have a condition that mimics aphasia (when the brain is a little foggy from a stroke) and tech things have taken a big hit. WoW says it might be a router somewhere and if that's it, Atari would likely have to tell me...which may take forever. I'm in chronic pain, so gaming is my last resort against it. Ergo, I need to get this issue solved asap. I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer.

It sounds like you have an issue with firewalls and not internet connectivity per se. If you couldn't connect to the internet you couldn't post here UNLESS you used a different machine to log in. Without more details on your system (particularly what operating system you are using) it's almost impossible to troubleshoot this.

It should be possible to update the game using the manual patches but that would require being able to access the following link:

Try uninstalling and reinstalling as follows:

Uninstall NWN2 and MotB
Reinstall NWN2
Reinstall MotB
Manually patch using the following three patches from the NWN2 vault site in the order listed:

nwn2_pcx1_english_from110 1115_to1101116.zip

nwn2_pcx1_english_from110 1116_to1111152.zip

nwn2_pcx1_english_from111 1153_to1121295.zip
