What do all those history feats do?

Things like DragonSlayer, Defender of the Keep, Explorer, etc.....why dont they actually do anything?

Especially Explorer, you found all 3 locations, talked to Guyven, and then...nothing happens? He just says some random stuff and thats the end of it? From the map dialog options, i thought he would open up some new area to explore at least.
