What does influence do?

I dont get it. There are very few places where influence matters...for example, your influence with shandra jerro in the trial, but its only possible to fail it if you are an ******* to her.

E.G., I get a high enough influence to talk to Elanee and reveal that she was always watching me. Then what? I get nothing, no new side quest opens up, nothing happens. And this requires fairly high influence to get, which means you must have been playing through the game with elanee for a significant time. Wheres my reward for this?

Wait until the end game. That's when influence REALLY matters in general. Although there are certain characters where it matters very little, there are some where it matters a GREAT deal. That's all I can say without spoiling the ending.

By the way, if your influence with ELanee drops LOW enough she will actually LEAVE the party PERMANENTLY and won't be around for the end game. :D

In the case of Elanee, you have to be patient. Generally, influence does effect how the game plays for you. Amazingly enough, Shandra's influence is relevant even after she is long dead and gone ... sniff ... ;)
