View Full Version : Crossroads keep : Cant get captain's company?
Apparently i didnt trigger the captain's company event at 30%, its now 60%+, is there any way to trigger it?
Are you sure you set recruiting to accept only the best? And are you sure you didn't accept any volunteers from the village with the charter or the Raven's Mercenaries?
If the Captain's Company hasn't triggered for you by now, its highly likely that it never will. Either because you set recruiting standards too low or you haven't fully trained the men. Once recruiting standards are set at any notch BELOW accepting only the best, they can NOT be raised.
(Epirote beat me to this one ... lol)
I accepted the raven's mercenaries and had "Same standards as rest of greycloaks" near the start, but i switched it to "Accept only the best" and have had their skill level at best for quite a while. Is it only set to trigger at 30%?

No. The CC is set to trigger 10 turns after you've first recruited Katriona PROVIDED you set the standards in the begining to accept only the best and kept it there AND Greycloak training is at it's best.
Exactly how did you reset the recruiting standards? If the game is giving you that option, telling her to raise them after they have been set lower is actually doing nothing. Kana tells you in the beginning that once you have lowered standards you can never raise them.
Accepting the Raven's mercenaries DEFINITELY does lower standards.
I first set it to "Same standards as rest of greycloaks".
The game then let me raise the standards with no problem. My greycloaks have training status at "Best". Is it some hidden value?

No, but it is a problem with the dialog options.
Kana tells you initially that you can only LOWER standards not raise them. After poring thru Kana's dialogs in the toolset, that is indeed the way it is coded (or at least it was when I checked it). Unfortunately, the game still gives you the dialog option to RAISE standards without actually raising them. That is the problem.
It's similiar to one of Orlen's dialogs where he tells you that you need more farmers when in fact you don't.
In order to get the event, therequiremetns are :
Accept only the best AND must reach "Best" training for greycloaks before the time limit?
For the ravens, how many greycloaks do they give you if you accept?
Do greycloaks actually matter for the crossroads keep battle?
Yes, that's about right. I don't know how many recruits you get from Raven's Mercenaries, but it aint worth taking them in. Greycloak numbers don't matter much; they are cannon fodder mostly.
You get 50 Greycloaks from the Raven's mercenaries.
Greycloak numbers don't really matter for the tower siege defense sequence, but they can affect special mission results.
I still say they are cannon fodder. :d

For the most part they are. :D There are only one or two places where their numbers really matter.
