View Full Version : Why so low xp for Fihelist mansion quest?
Both light and dark sides have absurdly strong enemies, dark side enemies being stronger...watchmen with attack bonuses of +15, and capable of doing 25+ damage a hit. Stoneskin gets worn down so fast you need to re-cast it every encounter with 5-6 watchmen.
And with such strong enemies, suggesting something like level 8 fighters, they only give a level 9 party 11 xp each. WHAT.
A group of level 8 fighters (even with stoneskin) shouldn't represent much of a match for a properly equipped and buffed level 9 party. Remember that the party can utilize stoneskin as well, as well as any number of other buffs. So the XP will be fairly low.
Huh? They represent far more of a challenge than that, especially since they outnumber your own party considerably.
Just keep them busy with some well equiped and buffed fighters (like Khelgar) and let a caster dispel their buffs and then fry them with fireballs or other powerful offensive spells.
They just run past Khelgar and knockdown Elanee and Qara, who cant have mirror image at this point. Qara gets up and then gets knockdowned again halfway through the casting process. The difficulty level is totally out of whack with the rewards. The old owl well battle was easy as cake, and gave you decent xp for each orc.
IIRC I got somewhere around 11 xp per orc at the Old Owl well. That sounds about right.
As for the Fihelis issue, are you sure you aren't triggering too many of them at once? On the light side, I remember that there were several waves of "thugs" that attacked but they only triggered when you get to certain points.
What sort of xp were you getting on the dark side for the city watchman?
11 xp, IIRC old owl well was giving way higher, maybe in the range of 40 ish. Most encounters have 4-6 watchmen.
