View Full Version : Bishop feat selection
Hello all,
I have been reading online trying to figure out a way to make Bishop a dual-wield expert by removing his archer feats and getting dual-wield related ones.
While searching I came across info saying this was fixed in the Official Patch 1.03. I'm currently playing through on patch 1.10 and will pick him up soon and will see if this is true for myself.
Can someone tell me wether this has been fixed or not in their game?
What exactly do you expect to be fixed? :confused:
I would rather he be a real dual-wield ranger rather than have two weapon fighting and a bunch of archery feats. Archery is not worth much for me save stopping mages from rushing into melee.
I just find sometimes Companions don't have the proper feats and such. Being able to level them to my liking when I pick them up (especially Bishop, since i'm playing evil now and I need someone evil to fight with)
This may be a risk to the stability of the gam but apparently it works well. And some would say its cheating, but without changes Bishop is relegated to the sidelines in all my playthroughs so far. I'd just like to bring him along and level him so he can dual-wield with efficiency.
I found a "NWN2 Character Editor" on NWvault that may suit my needs ... not sure If I'm breaking rules here mentionning an outside source?!
If I am, I apologize in advance.

Well the patch info shows the following;
" Bishop takes the two weapon fighting path of rangers despite longbow feats and constant references to arrows. This has been fixed; the game will scan your package for valid Ranger Combat Styles (when you become a level 2 ranger) and picks that. If you don't have one in your package, it defaults to dual-wield.
I just don't understand this.

Well, the question is...
What would Bishop want to be? He's chosen to be an archery expert.
Regardless of that answer, you could probably use the console to drop his EXP to 0, and then add the EXP back to rebuild him. At level 2 just select Two-Weapon style instead of Archery. You could even change his pet I suppose.

The "NWN2 Character Editor" on NWvault will allow you to do all this within an easy to use interface ; it basically allows to edit animal companions, any stats skills, etc. I tried it out with Elanee yesterday, changing her attributes so strenght is higher and hr pet is now a bear instead of a badger. Seems to work well. My real intent was to change bishop though, as the rest are well built for the most part.
And if Bishop is an archery expert, I will try and change his fighting style to bows then to make him more potent in the party where he must be part of the group.
