I noticed that for the Mask of the Betrayer item list on ThievesGuild.net, there are details showing the location of some of the items. Yet the item list for the OC doesn't have the location. Is there an existing list with the location of these items anywhere? I would be glad to create one during my next playthrough of the OC. Unless one exists and I just can't find it.

Also are gems(for crafting) in the OC random finds or are they fixed? I've only played once.

AFAIK, there is no existing list that shows item locations for the OC.

If you want to make such a list, I'll be happy to add it in to the existing database. Please send me the list in .txt or .rft format with the items in the same order as they appear in the item database. :D

The crafting gems in the OC are both random and fixed. Some are found at merchants and as specific fixed drops in the game, others are generated from random treasure tables. There should be a list in the crafting guide showing most the locations - both fixed and random - for most of the "high end" gems.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I had not noticed the gem locations section in the crafting guide. It has been a long time since I'd checked out the Thieves Guild.

The Guild has given me more information that I had hoped to find on NWN2, and I feel obliged to return the favor.

I'll try and build a table of the items best I can. Mostly Merchants stores, as their stocks are most likely to be fixed than random.

I'm currently trying to figure out which build go play for my second go-around of the OC. Thinking of trying a dwarven defender build ; my first char was mainly a spellcasting druid built like a tower ; take damage and cast spells. I'm thinking straight melee tank with exotic weapon, katana or bastard sword.

Anyhow, I'll let you know when I'm done the list, may take awhile. Time is not always on my side. Downside of being in a relationship! Later.

So I started the list and was thinking perhaps I won't list every single item picked up in the OC. I'll concentrate on the merchant stores and the magical items picked up in fixed locations, and also some reagents I noticed that are missing form the list (Tor Millows in Fort Locke has many reagents that aren't on the list). Its pointless to put every single thing(like, health packs, thieves tools, etc) since much of it is random. What do you think?

Uniquely named items are always good (Bone Phoenix for example) as is anything unique sold by the merchants. :D

I agree about the healing kits, thieves tools etc. Ignoring them is fine.

I'll have to double check on the reagants - which ones are missing?

Appreciate the help on this.

Thanks for your replies,

Specifically, the priest(Tor Millows) had two Imp Stinger items and a Stag Bettle Horn on my recent playthrough.

I might be blind but I don't see them in the list on Thieves-Guild. No chance this could be random eh? (Being Canadian, I can't not say "eh?"!)
I'm pretty sure merchants stocks are fixed.

I'll definitely put uniquely named items in the list; they are what had me going about this list. That's what people want to find!

What I noticed when writing down Jacobys' (Fort Locke) inventory, there are many +1 items to go through. Not convinced I'll put ALL those in the list. Perhaps +3 items and up only, since these items tend to be in lesser numbers in merchants who carry them and are worth hunting down for NPCs. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated here.

Or would having a list of the merchants and their inventory in a seperate page be a possibility? (on top of having the location of uniquely named items in the items list) Personally i'm always hunting for that in a lot of RPG games and find these often lacking.

Its my pleasure doing the list; gotta help out those who helped me.
I've copied the lists in Excel; easier to work with for me.

While doing this I noticed that the items ID list was missing some items;
Light armor stops ar "Padded Armor" and Medium armor stops at "Mithral Chainmail". I think the rest is OK.

I hope to find more time in the new year. Seems the holidays are taking a lot of my time, with family dinners and reunions and such, NWN2 is pushed to the side a lot.

While I'm at it, this may be my last post for 2007 (leaving for another party soon) so I wish you all a Happy New Year, wherever you are.

Don't forget that we have this list for the body parts.

I'll add the priest location to that list.

I thought it would be good to update my progress with the list.

I've taken the habit of making complete inventory of all merchants I've met so far. Most items are found with merchants.

I'll probably make a seperate list just for merchants while i'm doing this list.

I'm playing as an Evil Warlock, working for Moire as of right now. Its good to be bad! Having more fun with this evil char than my good char!

I hope this list will be usefull to others as its quite a job!

List is coming along. Working my way through the OC, taking my time not to miss anything. What I'm missing is time. I play as much as I can at home and write down everything on good old paper and then put it in Excel when I get to work.

I've decided to do complete inventories of merchants on top of an items list. If you're gonna do something, do it right. I figured with the copy-paste it's not so bad. The easy part is putting the locations in the actual item list once everything is written down.

I have an Excel list 11 pages long in Excel only of merchants and I'm done the ones in Act 1. So it's very extensive.

The unique weapons list is 10 pages long printer in excel and all the rest of unique items is about 8 pages.

Although the Item lists I doubt I will put the +1, +2 items, etc as there would be many locations to note and not enough space. The "Items" List will contain only unique items I think, while my Merchant List will be more complete.

You might want to consider starting to send it along. With 11 pages and counting, it's going to take a while to go through all of it and resort it by item type.

FYI, I do NOT have access to excel. :D If you can cut and paste into a normal .txt file format that would be appreciated.

Exporting from excel to text doesn't work too well. I can export to HTML.

You do have a browser don't you?! :D

Kgambit,

I intend to send you the list in two parts ; before and after Crossroad Keep. I'm probably gonna get to the Keep tonight or tomorrow. Just finished the Trial, so not far to go, Just Aldanon's and Tavorick's estate to do and of course clear out the Keep. I will include Keep merchants in the second part.

So I expect to be able to send you the list (in HTML format) by the end of the week. I have basically copied the lists as they are on Thieves Guild and just added an extra column for the location.

I'll need to know how you want me to send you this.
