ok, in the acadamy of shapers and binders inarius has given me a set of sekleton keys. now, ive found two doors, one that i assume is in his room and one that is next to the stair well accessing the classrooms.
it doesnt unlock them.
what have i done wrong?
did whoever do the levels set them to unlock depending on your answer (instead of actually making the keys useful), (weather or not you lie about if you are going in his room) and then put 3. farewell in the list as well, doing nothing. cause, to get out of saying yay or nay i clicked farewell.
im going to go play with an older save to see what happens.
Inaru's keys should open most of the doors in the instructor's quarters downstairs. The only door that can't be opened with these keys or picked by a rogue or Safiya's companion (what's his name?) is the Soul Door AFAIK. :santa:
I would test in game, but unfortunately I don't have a save available. :santa:

interesting, cause i could open every door down there without them. except two doors, including the door ajacent to inarus's room. (i checked)
the only doors i cant open is the one in the bedroom south of the southeast stairwell, which is next to the soul ward. and the one to the right of the north stairs.
safias companion cant pick either.
ahhh, i see. i missed the book in nefres' room.
but then what was the point of whats his faces keys? id already gotten into everywhere, infact, i dont think any of the other doors where locked.
oh well, problem solved.
Well, the purpose of the Inaru's keys is to give you free access to most of the rooms in the Academy, and you are given the choice to respect his privacy or to investigate further, in which case you will have to kill him. But for that you must find the hidden door first. Bummer, can't remember the loot though. :santa:

the room adjacent his is empty save for a couple of summoning circles and an elder earth elemental. there is a bookshelf with a spellbook in it. -10% arcane spell failure, 40 chargers with some summoning stuff.
thing is, i went through all these places before i even talked to him, and all the doors were unlocked. i even played through a second time to make sure. all doors sept the ones you need nefris' key for were locked. doesnt matter much though.

If you don't get those keys, then you can't get into various rooms in the classroom area as well as the instructor's quarters.
If you try and pick them, you'll get the "a key is needed" message.
None of those rooms are essential to the plot, they simply have loot.

didnt have that problem
i went through every room except the two that you need the key from nefris's book to get into before i talked to inarus.
all doors were unlocked.
a bug perhaps.
