Can assasins use poison?

I am struggling to find any way for my Assasin charachter to use or create poison within the game.

Can anyone help.

I never used poisons myself, but I believe to use poisons, you just apply them to the weapon prior to combat. It is my understanding that the poison effect does not last very long though.
